Thymogen Alpha-1

Thymogen Alpha-1 is a combination product designed to support the immune system. It is a combination of Thymogen (Glu-Trp) and the immune peptide A2, also known as Thyreogen (Lys-Glu).

Thymogen Alpha-1 can be thought of as an immune modulator. It won’t overstimulate your immune system and create any issues like autoimmunity. It will regulate the immune system and can even help prevent autoimmune reactions.

Thymogen Alpha-1 comes in capsules and is very easy to dose as general immune support. You can simply take one capsule on the weekend, Saturday and Sunday. One capsule contains 500mcg (250mcg Glu-Tryp + 250mcg Lys-Glu).

If you have a condition of the immune system that you are trying to address your protocol would be different but Thymogen Alpha-1 could be a good addition as Thymogen has been shown to help in conditions like bacterial infections, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, influenza, and acute respiratory viral infections. Thymogen also decreases inflammation. It helps to normalize lymphocyte numbers and improve T-cell function. Thymogen can also useful in treating candida.

You could also purchase Thymogen separately, in the topical (cream) version, to help with dermatitis, and the healing of wounds and scars. Thymogen can also be used to increase the speed of recovery following surgery. You could take Thymogen in the lead up to surgery and post-surgery.

Thymogen has also been shown to be beneficial in preventing cancer and the severity of the disease.

There is also evidence to suggest Thymogen being cardioprotective. It has been shown to be beneficial in cardiac ischemia and arrhythmia.

Thyreogen (A-2) contains peptide bioregulators isolated from the thyroid gland. Thyreogen normalizes / modulates thyroid function. For example, if someone is hypothyroid and takes Thyreogen, it will help the thyroid produce more thyroid hormones but if the patient is hyperthyroid, it won’t do so. It will actually bring the thyroid down to optimal.

Thyroid hormones are known mostly for their role in metabolism but they are actually regulators of many different processes within the body. The thyroid hormones have a big impact on the immune system. Thyroid hormones regulate innate and adaptive immune responses as immune cells are direct target cells of thyroid hormones.

Hypothyroidism has been associated with increased susceptibility to infectious diseases. During severe illness you see a decrease in T3 and T4 levels. Low T4 levels correlate with disease severity and are associated with increased mortality.

Certain disease states can also affect thyroid function, Hashimoto’s and Graves disease being two examples.

As you can see, both hypo and hyperthyroidism can have an impact on the immune system. Thyreogen can help these conditions as it helps to modulate the thyroid, optimising thyroid hormone levels.

If you want a simple way to support optimal immune function, taking Thymogen Alpha-1 is a very simple way to do so. You get the benefits of both Thymogen and Thyreogen in the one supplement.
