I found this presentation from Dr. Nadir Ali on LDL cholesterol very interesting. I have heard him speak on podcasts in the past and it was something that I have been continually thinking about on and off for a while.
It explains what is commonly seen in clients on low carb diets. They would have great blood markers when they got a follow up blood test but at times they would see their LDL go up. It was scary to them because LDL has been labelled the "bad" cholesterol their physician didn't know why this was happening. Their triglycerides were low, the HDL was good, their insulin, glucose, and HBA1C were all better, but we had no idea why LDL was high. We would toss up a few theories and ask the doctors but no one was sure.
This work from Dr. Nadir Ali is really good at helping to understand why this might be occurring. I am really grateful there are smart people like him working these types of things out for us.
