The above video is of Locky back squatting 70kg for 5 reps. He is around the 58kg body weight mark and is still only 8 months or so into his training.
This is very good progress considering he could barely squat the empty bar when he began. His technique was already pretty good but he just lacked the strength. For most people it is the opposite way around. We have progressed slowly but everything is coming along nicely. He started at 46kg body weight as well and is now at 58kg. Again we didn't rush this. He has dropped about 2% body fat whilst adding this weight to the scale. It just shows that if you are consistent, work hard, and be patient, you will get the results you deserve.
There is plenty of time to keep progressing before the start of the Harold Matthews season so it will be good to see where Locky and all the other boys can get to and see those results transfer into their performances on the field.
