I won gold at pan pacs today. This was my first comp and I couldn't have done it without the help and support of many people. Massive thank you to Bruno Alves for everything he does and the coaching today. I would also like to thank Aaron Daniel Smith for his coaching and tips. He was who taught me in my first lesson and continues to help me out each day.
Igor Almeida has also been a massive help and motivation. Today I really thought of him competing at pan ams and dislocating his shoulder 5 times. And a huge thank you to all of the SJJA team who help out every session and who are just great people in general. I nearly pullled out due to injury earlier this week and only decided to compete this morning. I want to thank my partner Gemma Smith for being so supportive and understanding and putting up with my ups and downs. Not too many people can put up with my extremes but she takes everything in her stride and helps make me a better person. I love you. My family, and mum and dad especially, are a constant motivation to me. Seeing how hard they work and the work ethic they installed in my brother and I is something I will be forever grateful for. I would also like to thank Kyle Fish as I would not have started jiu jitsu if it weren't for him. He introduced us to Bruno, Aaron Daniel Smith, and Igor to do their nutrition. From this we have made some great new friends for life and have had a great adventure along the way.
Sorry for the post but I am big believer in appreciating and giving credit to the people who give their time and effort to help people out. There are obviously many more people who have helped shape who I am today and I am so grateful for them as well.
